Despite what others may think, I’m a pretty normal guy: I’m still trying to grill the perfect steak; college football is awesome; and I like to get outdoors when I can. I have secret celebrity crush on Katy Perry, and I like a good action flick.
I used to teach high school English, but after seven years of dealing with other people’s
idiots kids I was burned out. So I joined the Army National Guard. (One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.) Just three months shy of my 38th birthday, I shipped off to basic training at Ft. Benning, Georgia. After that I completed Officer Candidate School then completed eight more months of officer training.
I’m back in the education field now advising students at a community college. But my life really revolves around my family. I’m the proud dad of nine kids–three boys and six girls–between the ages of 16 years and 18 months old. My wife and I have been married for 17 years. Together we do our best to raise our kids not be idiots.
