The Wife:
She is Super Mom even though I tell her she doesn’t have to be Super Mom to be a super mom. She plays the piano.

Benji:  My one and only son is my swimming partner in the roiling, chaotic oceans of estrogen we navigate in every day. He plays the saxophone.

Ana:  Once at the dinner table she stared down her mashed potatoes and said, “Tell me the truth or you will die.” She plays spy games. Her name is pronounced “ah-na.”

Gwendolyn:  She is the motherly one always ready to hold The Baby, change her diaper, help clothe her, help in the kitchen.  She swims very well.

Renata:  According to her school librarian, she “sparkles” through the day (but she’s not a vampire).  Smiling, laughing, and hugging are her M.O. She just plays.

Julia:  She is our wild child. This one jumps off things, onto things, runs around things, into things. She plays swords with her brother.

Isla:  Isla is a very articulate two-year-old. She loves all things Dora. The other kids play with her. Her name is pronounced “eye-la.”

Baby: We have a new addition to our family. Baby was born on December 22, 2013! She weighed in at a healthy 9 lbs. 15 oz. and was 20 inches long.

  1. Dad says:

The best part for me is that I get to claim 1/4 of the DNA. So, where’s the pictures of the rest of your crew?

I encourage thoughtful and respectful discussions about anything I write.
